About Proco
Why Proco exists
Most consumer health information is wrong, exaggerated, or stripped of the qualifications that make the underlying research meaningful. Studies consistently report that 25-50% of consumer-facing health content contains material that is misleading or unsupported by evidence. Marketing claims routinely outpace what the underlying research describes. Industry funding shapes a meaningful portion of the available content. And there is almost no editorial layer between published research and consumer-facing claims that holds itself accountable to research-quality standards.
Proco was founded to occupy that editorial layer. Our work is to translate published health research into accessible, citation-dense, compliance-checked content — and to build product tools that let users do the same thing themselves at the point of decision.
What we're building
Proco. Our ingredient database and research platform covers 50+ supplement ingredients — the form, the dose range studied, the known interactions, the evidence quality. Each ingredient page describes what published clinical trials have measured. It does not diagnose, recommend treatment, or replace clinical consultation.
The broader Proco platform. Scanner is the first of several products. Our editorial content covers sleep, longevity, performance, nutrition, AI in health, methodology, and the wellness industry landscape. Each area will eventually have dedicated product tools as we expand. The hubs are the early scaffolding.
How we work
Three principles govern Proco's content and product work:
Research-based, not advice. We describe what trials and studies have measured. We do not tell readers what to do. The distinction is the difference between information and prescription, and it is the foundation of how we write.
Citation-dense. Every health claim links to primary research. Readers can verify our claims and form their own conclusions about what the evidence supports. We use systematic frameworks (GRADE, CONSORT, PRISMA) where appropriate.
Independent. We do not accept supplement-industry funding for editorial content. We do not run affiliate marketing. We do not endorse specific products in editorial coverage. Proco is a paid product; that is our business model.
The team
Johnny Meagher — Founder & CEO. Building Proco at the intersection of health and technology. Previously founded Learnsignal, an accounting education business based in Dublin.
Marina Neves — Co-founder & COO. Editorial owner. Holds final authority on what content ships under the Proco name.
We're a small founding team. We work with sleep researchers, longevity scientists, and nutrition specialists as advisors on specific content areas. Editorial reviewers and content contributors are credited inline on the pieces they shape.
Editorial standards
Every piece of Proco content follows a strict editorial floor: the information-versus-advice line is enforced at the sentence level, vulnerable populations get explicit warnings where relevant, citations are checked against source material, and disclaimers are mandatory. Marina runs a four-step pre-publication checklist on every piece. Content that fails any step does not ship until rewritten.
Our editorial framework is designed to remain compliant with EU Medical Devices Regulation 2017/745, Health Claims Regulation EC 1924/2006, the Unfair Commercial Practices Directive 2005/29/EC, and Irish Advertising Standards (ASAI Code).

Authorship & methodology
Proco articles are written and edited by Jonathan Meagher, Proco’s founder and editorial lead, working with subject-matter advisers in sleep, longevity, performance and nutrition. Every piece starts from primary research — peer-reviewed trials, systematic reviews and meta-analyses — and describes only what those sources have measured. Claims are linked to their references so readers can verify them, and we apply established appraisal frameworks (GRADE, CONSORT, PRISMA) where relevant.
Content is reviewed against a fixed editorial checklist before publication: the information-versus-advice line is enforced at the sentence level, vulnerable groups get explicit warnings where relevant, citations are checked against source material, and disclaimers are mandatory. Anything that fails a check is rewritten before it ships.
